VFR750F
1986-97

748cc, liquid-cooled V4, 6-speed producing 105bhp @10,500rpm

Second Generation V4 - An all-new model based on a complete redesign of the VF750F. Now featuring gear-driven camshafts, full fairing, alloy twin-spar frame and 16-inch front plus 18-inch rear wheels.

The VFR750F was first introduced to journalists after the 1985 Bol d'Or in Jerez, Spain. Introduced for 1986 as a complete redesign of the VF750F model to address some of the camshaft and bearing problems that had become associated with the first-generation Honda V4 engines, and to improve Honda's negative image concerning this engine. Compared to the VF750F, the new VFR750F had greater power output, lighter weight, lower centre of gravity, wider front tyre, shorter wheelbase, gear driven cams and six rather than five gears.

This all-new VFR750F was a winner from the start and has remained in production for over 30-years, evolving into the VFR800 from 1998.

"Tariff buster" 700cc versions (VFR700F) of this model were sold in the US market to address the tax laws in place at the time that penalised large-displacement imported motorcycles, in order to protect the troubled Harley Davidson Motor Company!
