CBX
1978-82
1047cc, 6-cylinder, 6-carbs, 24-valve DOHC Air-cooled producing 105bhp@9,500rpm.
Launched in 1978 as a 1979 year model the stunning CBX was Honda's first production 6-cylinder motorcycle and was developed from their mid 1960s World Championship winning RC 6-cylinder racers.
At the time the CBX was Honda's flagship model but due to its high price it was outsold by the CB900F.
Today, the 1978/79 CBX model is very much a collectors model with prime examples reaching values of over £20,000 at auction!

Back in 1978...
In late May 1978 four early production examples of the CBX-Z were flown from Tokyo to Heathrow. The four special crates were then rushed overnight to Honda UK Headquarters in West London where 4 staff members assembled and PDI'd them, then rode them in the early hours to Liverpool for the ferry to the IOM for the TT travelling-marshals. From Tokyo to the TT in under 48-hours, and I was one of those 4 privileged staff members!
